I vaguely remember Lovejoy. You need to watch the three seasons of Deadwood. Rent them, buy them, watch them. Not around children. I watch them after all are in bed. Kate wonders if they really used such language.

Since watching your clip of Charlie Rose's interview of Ian McShane, I've been wondering whether he was the actor who played Lovejoy in the BBC series of the same name that appeared on PBS in the '80s and '90s. Sure enough, he is. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090477/
